Pieter Overduin
Introducing Pieter Overduin, a talented luthier who has dedicated over 30 years to perfecting his craft. He learned the craft in the workshop of Luthier Dirk Jacob Hamoen, who is now the head of the “Nederlandse Vioolbouwschool” , located in Makkum, and several courses in the UK and the Netherlands. With expertise in crafting string instruments such as violins, violas, violoncellos, , Pieter has established himself as a respected figure in the art of instrument making.
Pieter’s abilities extend beyond creating instruments; he also possesses proficiency in repairing and evaluating string instruments. Through careful assessment, he provides insights into the quality, condition, and potential of each instrument he handles.
Moreover, Pieter’s passion for his craft has led him to share his knowledge with others. For the past 15 years, he has been teaching instrument making, passing on his expertise to aspiring craftsmen and contributing to the preservation of this cherished tradition.
